PULAPOL JoUrNeY

Salam and hello to all…

It’s been a busy week for me for the past three weeks… On 7th of May, we received guests from Kelantan which was Pak Su dan Mak Su who wants to send their daughter to UTHM. The following week, 14th of May we again received guests of 11 people in our small and humble house in Skudai. They are my husband’s sibling, in-laws and in-laws of in-laws…(haha… too many of them…) also a few of my niece…

I’m glad they’d came here. Actually they want to celebrate my in-law who has finished his training in Police Training Centre (PULAPOL) in Muar. We woke early in the morning (at 4pm – my eyes cannot be opened! Haha…) to cook Fried Bee Hoon, pack all things up and head to Muar (exit Ayer Hitam if I’m not mistaken.) We need to reach there before 7.30 a.m because the program starts at that exact time!

Looking for parking

There are a lot of marching and escorts….Let the pictures do the talkin’!

There he is! He’s the “turning point” in the lines…

Different colour of the feather show that they are from different “company”

That little kid is his second daughter…really can’t get hold of her….
Looks like she want to run away but she isn’t actually!

A big family…

Talk to my hand! Hehe…

After the ceremony, we find a place to settle and eat the food we brought

And we went to the dorm to pick up some of his things (he’s taking the bus the next day to our home before heading back to Perak and Pulau Pinang)

Just sitting near the dry drain…There are some makcik selling drinks and nuggets there….

So we continue our journey to Jakel and KipMart (finding some new fabric and clothes to wear) and head back home…

To be continued….

RelatiVely RelatiVes

Assalamualaikum and hello to all.

Activity: Sending my Husband's Cousin to Malaysia Tun Hussein University (UTHM) on Monday

Last Sunday we really have to wake up early to go to wet market in Taman Universiti to buy ingredients to cook Nasi Kerabu. We had to prepare meals for our guests from Kelantan, they came here to send their daughter to
the university. She will going for 7 months-course and graduating with an Executive Diploma.

So my husband cook everything that morning while his other cousin, Kak Za went to the Train Station to pick up the family. 5 of them, Pak Su (Uncle), Mak Su (Aunt), Alif, Aril and Fiezah (Cousins). I'm glad that they came to my humble and small house (a goveernment quarters actually).

So we have a big chat while eating Nasi Kerabu for lunch.

Note: Kelantanese usually eat Nasi Kerabu for breakfast and usually make it using Bunga Telang (Clitoria ternatea), or we called it bunga kerabu since the flower gave a natural blue colour to the rice. Since we don't have this flower, we use Daun Mengkudu (Morinda Citrifolia) and the rice will become blackish...)

Then we went to visit my husband's sister-in-law in HSI quarters around 4.00 p.m. It's raining heavily outside and I didn't get to snap any pictures since it is very dark. We ate satay and Otak-Otak (pronouns: oh-tuck). Then We went to Kak Za's house later after sunset (Maghrib), and ate some more...Rice with variety of dishes...

 This is Satay. Juicy...Yumyum...

Otak-otak

Then they talked about themselves and their relatives back in hometown (Kelantan). What a BIG family reunion. We went home at about 10.00 p.m.

Monday, 5.00 a.m

I woke up early to prepare the ingredients to cook Nasi Lemak. As usual, my hubby will cook. After we had breakfast, we started our journey to Batu Pahat from home. It's 2 hours journey and we really enjoy it.

The main gate

We came inside and sat outside the registration hall while waiting for Fiezah to register and gets her ID Card.  They do prepare meals for all the students and parents on the registration day.

Again...Nasi Lemak.

Usually other universities will let the students get their room keys first, THEN go for briefing or hear a welcome note from the university, but in this case, the university people  make us wait for the students briefing and welcome note FIRST, then students can get their room keys.

So we sat there... Waiting---and waiting...and more WAITING....

 Tired of waiting

This is what we had for lunch which they provide, Chicken Rice.

He can't wait any longer... so eat first

Pak Su (Left) and Alif (Right)
Waiting...

Look at the time... they still haven't come out from the lecture room

We waited for about 5 HOURS, until 2.00p.m before we could sent her things to her room.

And the odd thing was that the boys get to stay in the dorm INSIDE the university whereas ladies are placed in dorm which is OUTSIDE the university. Really REALLY awkward for people to do that. Protect women more than men. Not the other way around!

More WAITING

This is the dorm near the front gate.

It all turns out well  after saying goodbye to Fiezah, we continue our journey to Kluang, sending Pak Su and Mak Su to their other daughter's house  in Penjara Kluang (Kluang Jail). Her name is Adhira (She is a Jail Officer and live in the quarters.)

After that, we went back and reach home about 8.45p.m. Tired but Happy and still feel fresh

Not feeling sleepy, so we spent our time watching TV until midnight.

Salam and hello to everyone...

This is the second part of the Dairy Cow's story which I post before.

Later after we spend about 3 hours in the farm, its time to eat since we're all feel hungry. So we continue our journey to pickup my husband's cousin and headed to Kluang Town to find the famous Radix Fried Chicken (RFC).

Radix Fried Chiken - the front view

This fast food restaurant is not an ordinary fast food. It sells only organic chicken which they breed in their own breeding farm. This restaurant is under HPA company which in providing Halal food especially for Muslim consumers and generally for everyone. The food they fed their chicken is fully organic. No antibiotics, no medication and no hormones (I feel safe to eat it).

We entered the restaurant and place the order:

We choose Combo A (much more cheaper). As I started to eat the fried chicken, it struck me that......... the chicken taste so DELICIOUS!!!!! Deliciously delicious! It taste different from the chicken I use to fried at home.

at around 6.00 p.m, we walk around in the shopping mall  in front of the restaurant and head back home around 7.00 p.m.

Then, I saw this:

It is also a subsidiaries of HPA company (they use the word RADIX, so easy to detect). I hope that when I have the chance to come again, I will try the food here.

That day, we reach home at 10.00 p.m. Tired but happy. Really an unforgettable moments.

To all reader's, if you come to Malaysia, look for these restaurants. The food is really delicious and healthy and selling at an affordable price.

A Visit - Dairy Cow

Last Saturday, my mom, my husband and I went to the Alifah's Farm in Kluang. We intended to look at the cow we purchased but unfortunately, our dairy cow are still quarantine. The farm workers pick us up at the front gate and drove for approximately 2.3km before we reach the farm. The farm can hold up to 2,000 dairy cows but currently, they only have 500 cows and still looking for people who are interested to invest.

The cows are imported from Melbourne, Australia and a cross-breed of Fresian and Jersey.

 Fresian cattle

Jersey cattle

Fresian produces more milk than Jersey cattle, but Jersey is easier to calve since it has lower rate of dystocia (abnormal or difficult childbirth) which gives the cattle extra points and famous to be crossbreed.

We went around for a few hours, snapping pictures with my mobile phone.

The cow is "bathe" before entering the "milk collector" hall.

Calf

Good "Daddy" milking the calf. The milk is taken from its mother.

My turn. Whew, its hard.

A calf which was born last 12 hours. It started to walk slowly.

The "Milk Collector" Machine. They spray antiseptic and clean the milk area.
(Its interesting to see the cow really know their position when queuing...hehe...)

I will continue next time since my head suddenly felt spinning around (you guess why).

Hope you enjoy reading my blog.
